We were honored to be able participate in the 9/11 neverforget.run event yesterday. Fine Creek had volunteers and paid staff walk laps at the start at midnight and throughout the day as Russ Holland ran his 343 laps in tribute to the firefighters and all first responders lost 20 years ago.

We just hosted another CPR/First Aid/AED certification class presented by Powhatan Home Defense and DM Training Solutions. If you have an interest in learning CPR, there is another class scheduled on September 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.

Yesterday was an important training day, not only for Fine Creek VFD, but for all fire stations in Powhatan Company. It's not an everyday occurrence to have an actual house in which to perform training, and the county has been fortunate to have had 2 opportunities this year.

We just received word from the North Pole that the jolly old elf, Santa Claus, will take time from his busy schedule to join us for our Santa Runs again this year! We'll be leaving our station around 6:00 p.m.

Fine Creek VFD would like to announce that we have added a new piece of apparatus today! Ranger 704 is a Polaris Ranger 1000 that has been specially modified for fire and rescue needs in Powhatan County.

As we head towards winter, this weekend is a good time to replace smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries. Also, make sure the detectors are in date as both have a functional life expectancy.

We are selling a 2003 John Deere Gator 6x6. It has a water tank that holds 50 gallons with pump. Everything runs great on the unit. Maintenance is up to date. Currently has 159.5 hours on it. We are taking sealed bids till November 25th at the end of the day.
